Is there a way to include additional fields in the Status Email like phone number? Or select whether phone number appears instead of email.

Yes, there is. I’ve been able to add an employee ID to our sign up sheets. But I believe Phone Number is already included as one of the built-in fields. What would be nice is if you could apply optional fields by Category, but that is not possible yet.

Hi Thomas, at the moment the “Status Email” only outputs the name and email for each sign-up. Other emails like the confirmation email can include additional custom fields and does include phone number if included which you can add additional emails as a BCC (blind carbon copy) on. However, I do have a feature on the wishlist to expand the Status Email to include additional fields. I’d be happy to update this thread if that feature ends up being added to the plugin.

If you can also give me an example or two of how you’d like to use it, please let me know so it can be considered when looking at incorporating the feature. I can’t guarantee when or if it will be added to the plugin, though, so if you are in need of this feature ASAP, just message me through the Contact Form and I can provide a quote for adding the feature right away.

Thank you for the information. For most of our sign-up sheets, we have another staff member copied to receive the status email in charge of that event/shifts. They do not access WP so would not be able to do an export. So they rely on the last status email received to see who the volunteers are scheduled for each shift. With the phone number they would have the most pertinent contact info if they need to reach the volunteer on the day of their shift. That is our main use, although if we had sheet specific custom fields, then I could also see a benefit for our staff as well to get specific response to a question related to that event/shift. This way the two of us who set the shifts up in WP do not really need to take additional action beyond setup.
